TIPS FOR GREAT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHS

Timing
Schedule enough time for the photos that you want. I like to have at least an hour to photograph the getting ready process. For your posed photos, I recommend 30 minutes for group portraits (families and wedding party), and at least 30-45 minutes for photos of the bride and groom together. Some couples request an hour or more for bride and groom photos. The more time that you reserve for photos, the more photos that you will have of the two of you together. Plan more time for everything than you think you'll need, because unexpected events may occur on your wedding day. Several weeks before your wedding, we will discuss your schedule and how the photography will fit in it. I will prepare a photography schedule based on the timeline that you've provided, and it will include any photos that you've requested.

Locations
Consider going somewhere special for photos of the bride and groom. Choose a park or urban setting for beautiful and artistic portraits together. You can even start the wedding festivities early by planning a fun place to go with your bridesmaids and groomsmen before the ceremony, such as a bar or cafe.

Makeup and hair
Have a trial run with your hair stylist and makeup artist several days before the wedding. Have a friend take photos of you at the trial, and make sure that you are happy with the way you look in the photos. Keep your makeup simple and natural in appearance. You want to look like yourself in the photos, so avoid any drastic changes in hair color or make up choices.

Communication
I love it when couples give me lots of information before the wedding about their families, their cultures, the events of the day, and the details they've chosen. The more I know about you and your wedding, the better I can document it all. Likewise, please let your family and friends know about me and my style, and encourage them to feel comfortable in front of my camera.

Final thoughts
Most importantly, be expressive. Live your wedding day to the fullest, and let yourself feel every emotion deeply. Your photographs will benefit.
